Police arrested a security guard for the sexual assault of a seven-year-old girl in a building bathroom on Sunday (July 12, 2026), in the Paydhuni area. The girl is currently under medical observation.

A crowd gathered outside the police station to protest the incident, which led to a road blockade. Police registered a case against the accused under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and took him into custody.

He is being questioned by the police. A police contingent has been deployed outside the Paydhuni police station to maintain order.

According to information provided by the police, when the girl entered the washroom of her residential building, the security guard, who was stationed at the same building, entered the facility and sexually assaulted her. The girl, who sustained injuries, was taken to a nearby hospital.

After the residents heard about the sexual assault, a crowd gathered in front of the police station on Sunday (July 13, 2026).

As the crowd blocked the main road, the traffic in the area came to a halt for some time. The people demanded that the accused should be given a punishment on the station premises.

As the Legislative Assembly Speaker Rahul Nawekar arrived at the police station to review the situation, the relatives of the victim and the residents surrounded him with their grivences.
