The self-enumeration exercise for Census 2027 will be conducted across all 60 wards of the Salem Corporation from July 17 to 31, 2026, while the house-listing enumeration by Census officials will be carried out from August 1 to 30, 2026.
The Salem Corporation Commissioner Lalitaditya Neelam said in a press release that with the commencement of preliminary work for the 16th Census, house-listing and housing Census would be undertaken in the Corporation limits. Residents could voluntarily complete the self enumeration by registering details of their households through the official portal, www.se.census.gov.in, between July 17 and 31, 2026.
The Commissioner appealed to the residents to participate in the national exercise by completing the self-enumeration online within the stipulated period and to extend full cooperation to Census officials during the house-listing survey. He urged all residents to ensure that their household details were accurately registered as part of the Census 2027 exercise.
