The self-enumeration phase of the Census of India 2027 will begin in Erode Corporation on July 17 and continue till July 31, the Corporation Commissioner and Principal Census Officer Arpit Jain has said.
Mr. Jain said the exercise will cover all four zones of the Corporation. Residents can voluntarily furnish their household details through the Census self-enumeration portal by registering with a mobile number. Only one mobile number should be used for each family.
After completing the 34-question schedule, a 12-digit reference number will be sent to the registered mobile number through SMS. The reference number should be produced before the enumerator during the house-to-house enumeration.
The door-to-door enumeration will be carried out from August 1 to August 30. Enumerators will visit every household in the Corporation limits and collect details based on the 34-question schedule. Mr. Jain appealed to the residents to cooperate with the enumerators by furnishing accurate information to facilitate the smooth conduct of the Census.
