The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Sunday (July 19, 2026) alleged that activist Sonam Wangchuk has been illegally detained by the Central government to prevent him from joining the march to Parliament on Monday (July 20, 2026), called by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP).
Senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia along with many others joined the CJP’s protest on Sunday afternoon at Jantar Mantar here and said that he would also join the march to Parliament in support of the “education revolution”.

“Tomorrow, don’t come in support of any party. Whatever may be your party, even if you are from BJP, look at your child and think whether you want a good education system for your child,” Mr. Sisodia told the media.
AAP national spokesperson and MP Sanjay Singh said that he had submitted a notice to the Rajya Sabha Secretary-General seeking a discussion under Rule 267 on the NEET paper leak, on police action against peaceful protesters, and on the demands raised by Mr. Wangchuk, an education reform activist.

The party also alleged problems with NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) re-examination, which was conducted after the paper leak.
Attacking Prime Minister Narendra Modi, AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal said in a post on X, “Major irregularities are now coming to light in the Re-NEET exam results as well. Where are the poor students supposed to go? Modi-ji, you cannot even conduct a single exam properly; how will you run the country? You have ruined the nation over the last 12 years.”

Meanwhile, Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Harsh Malhotra alleged that Mr. Wangchuk sat on the hunger strike on June 28 in a protest “sponsored” by the AAP, the Left, and the Congress over the alleged NEET paper leak, even though a re-examination was satisfactorily conducted on June 21. “This clearly shows that the objective of the hunger strike was not to raise students’ concerns but to create disruption from the streets to Parliament during the Monsoon Session,” he said.
Mr. Wangchuk, who was on the 21st day of his hunger strike demanding resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, was whisked away by the police and hospitalised on Saturday (July 19).
