A 79-year-old man who was severely injured after being hit by a speeding goods truck while crossing the road succumbed to his injuries on Friday, nearly six days after the accident.

The incident occurred on Ring Road near PES College within the Banashankari Traffic Police Station limits on July 12. The deceased has been identified as Parashuram, a resident of Hosakerehalli.

According to the police, the accident took place at around 2.30 p.m. on July 12 when Parashuram was crossing the road. A speeding goods truck allegedly knocked him down, leaving him with multiple injuries. He was rushed to a hospital, where he underwent treatment, but succumbed to injuries on Friday. The Banashankari Traffic Police have registered a case and have launched a manhunt for the accused.
