WWE veteran Sheamus may be perfectly okay with working in one of the biggest rival companies of the Stamford-based promotion.

Sheamus is one of the most well-known stars in WWE, owing to his work in the company in this era. After his entry into the promotion in 2006, The Celtic Warrior gradually made a name for himself with her sheer skill and prowess in the ring. He has won the WWE championship thrice, along with several other titles over the years. He was moved to the alumni section earlier this month, after he chose not to extend his contract.

According to a recent report from WrestleVotes on Fightful Select, a high level member of the company apparently tried to take his side when negotiating with TKO. Furthermore, the report also claimed that Sheamus was not averse to working in AEW, even if it was for a short while.

For now, nothing is known for certain about Sheamus' future intentions. However, it is not far-fetched to assume that him joining AEW would boost the company's standing among fans significantly.

According to Eric Bischoff, Sheamus' on-screen character lacked a certain depth.

Speaking on his 83 Weeks podcast, the WWE veteran claimed that if he was in charge of Sheamus' booking, he would have made The Celtic Warrior's character much less animated. He said:

What is next for Sheamus remains to be seen.
