A popular AEW star attracted a mixed bag of fan reactions after announcing her contract expiration timeline.

The aforementioned star in question is Queen Aminata. During her tenure in the Jacksonville-based wrestling promotion, she has emerged as a top prospect and one of the hardest-hitting wrestlers in the women's division. Her emergence stalled following her neck injury in 2025. She overcame the odds and made her All Elite Wrestling return in April 2026, following which she set her sights on winning the TBS Championship. However, despite a few attempts, Aminata failed in her quest.

Furthermore, after she did not win the title in the recent Survival of the Fittest match, Queen Aminata announced that her contract is set to expire in February next year, but injury time has also been added. Upon her announcement, the wrestling fans reacted on social media. One fan speculated that she would join absent star Britt Baker on the sidelines, calling it 'TK jail.'

Another fan said that if Queen Aminata did leave All Elite Wrestling after her deal is up, she would retire from wrestling.

On the other hand, a section of fans believed that it was just an announcement and Queen Aminata would re-sign and continue to work with AEW. At the same time, one fan said that she should win the TBS title.

In January 2026, Queen Aminata shared a major update regarding her current deal. The popular star revealed that the Jacksonville-based promotion had renewed her contract until next February despite her being injured and out of action.

With Aminata having plenty of time left on her existing contract, it remains to be seen if she will ascend to the next level.
