South Coast Railway (SCoR) General Manager Sandeep Mathur has directed senior officials to prioritise operational safety and improve service reliability across the zone.

Chairing a high-level review meeting at the zonal headquarters in Visakhapatnam on Tuesday, Mr. Mathur reviewed safety measures and train punctuality with Principal Heads of Departments and Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of the zone’s four divisions.

Describing punctuality as a key indicator of railway performance, he called for continuous monitoring of train operations and immediate corrective measures to address operational bottlenecks.

Operational issues should be addressed promptly through close coordination among departments to minimise delays and improve service reliability, he said.

Reviewing safety measures, Mr. Mathur directed officials to strictly adhere to prescribed safety protocols and ensure proper maintenance of railway assets. He also asked senior officers to step up field inspections and strengthen monitoring mechanisms to provide a safe and secure travel experience for passengers.
