Spain secured its second FIFA World Cup title after beating Argentina 1-0 in the final at the New York/New Jersey Stadium on Sunday.
Ferran Torres grabbed the winner in the 106th minute as Spain extended its unbeaten run to 38 games, a new world record.
It was a dominant display throughout the tournament from La Roja, which conceded just one goal in its eight games at the quadrennial competition.
By securing the title, Spain became the first nation to hold both the men’s and women’s World Cup titles at the same time.
The women’s team won the 2023 edition of the FIFA Women’s World Cup after beating England 1-0 in the final.
Germany is the only other team to lift the trophy in both competitions.
