Spanish city of Los Palacios y Villafranca has celebrated Spain's FIFA World Cup stars Fabian Ruiz and Gavi, after they returned from the United States. They were gifted tomatoes and also had two stadiums named after them.

Ruiz had an important role to play in the FIFA World Cup win this summer, scoring a key goal against Belgium in the quarterfinals. He played all eight matches for the eventual winners, including starting in the final against Argentina.

Meanwhile, Gavi played twice - playing a total of 77 minutes and failing to get a goal or an assist. However, he was involved in a post-match incident with Leandro Paredes.

In their honour, the Marismas and San Sebastian stadiums have officially been renamed as Fabian Ruiz and Pablo Paez Gavira ‘Gavi', while they also get special tomatoes gifted in their weight.

Spain coach Luis de la Fuente spoke about the win after the FIFA World Cup, hailing his players following the win over Argentina. He said:

Spain won the final 1-0 with a goal from Ferran Torres in the 106th minute. They finished the FIFA World Cup unbeaten, winning seven of their eight matches, keeping seven clean sheets, and conceding just one goal.

Luis de la Fuente has insisted that his future after the FIFA World Cup win would not be decided straight away. He wants to take time before making the call and said:

Spain are also the UEFA EURO 2024 winners, but lost the UEFA Nations Leaague to Portugal in 2025.
