Shiv Sena State president Siddalinga Swami has urged the Kalaburagi Regional Commissioner to stop transportation of “murram” illegally from the construction site of the proposed tank in Veebhutihalli village in Shahapur taluk.

Addressing a press conference in Yadgir on Sunday, Siddalinga Swami said that a private contractor is transporting “murram” from the tank construction site illegally.

“We have submitted a request to the officers concerned to prevent such illegal activities and protect valuable ‘murram’. However, no action has been taken so far. Therefore, the Regional Commissioner should intervene and direct the officers to take immediate action to protect public property,” he said.

Siddalinga Swami further demanded that the Deputy Commissioner and officers of the Mines and Geology Department visit the spot and carry out a joint inspection to assess the quantum of “murram” that has been transported so far.
