Students of St. Xavier’s College, Palayamkottai. on Monday staged a demonstration in front of their college demanding the scrapping of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) conducted by the Union Government for undergraduate admission to medicine.

Since Tamil Nadu has been the trendsetter in the field of education, the all-important portfolio should be under the control of the State and, hence it should be a State subject,” they said.

After the agitation, the students returned to their classes..

The Students Federation of India staged a demonstration at Vannarpet in the evening.
