The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Wednesday arrested a superintendent in the Office of the Assistant Director (Survey and Land Records) in Mahabubnagar district for accepting a bribe of ₹15,000 for processing corrections in a village map.

    The accused, Bommireddy Venkateshwar Reddy, Superintendent in the Office of the Assistant Director (Survey and Land Records), Mahabubnagar, was trapped by the ACB’s Mahabubnagar Range Unit after he demanded and accepted the bribe from a complainant.

    According to the ACB, the official had sought the money for putting up a file before the Assistant Director to facilitate corrections in the map pertaining to Karvena village in Bhoothpur mandal of the district.

    The tainted bribe amount of ₹15,000 was recovered from the accused at his instance.

    The accused was produced before the special court for SPE and ACB Cases at Nampally for judicial remand. Further investigation is on.

    The identity of the complainant has been withheld for security reasons.
