Tay Melo has broken her silence following reports about her AEW future. This comes after Tony Khan revealed that she has been granted her release from the company.
Earlier today, during the Redemption media call, Khan mentioned Melo had requested her release last month as she planned to step away from wrestling. After discussing it, they had come to an agreement, and Tony was planning to grant her the release.
Tay Melo has now posted on Instagram after reports of her release surfaced. She did not address this head-on and only posted selfies while she was enjoying the sunlight. She also had a brief caption for her post.
Her post can be found below.
During the same media call, Tony Khan had an update on Tay Melo's husband, Sammy Guevara, and her tag team partner, Anna Jay.
The Spanish God has gone viral after many speculated that he could be leaving the promotion after many noticed he no longer had "AEW" in his social media bio. TK talked about this and said he found it unusual that there were discussions, as nothing changed regarding his status. Guevara even reached out to him and clarified that he did not mean to create any buzz about it.
Khan also addressed Anna Jay's status and revealed that she had extended her contract with the promotion. Jay's absence from TV was due to an injury she was dealing with, and she even went for an MRI last week.
Unfortunately for fans, this looks like the end of TayJay for the foreseeable future. They can still be considered the pioneers of women's tag team wrestling in AEW, having been one of the first duos to be formed. It remains to be seen if this will be the start of Anna Jay going on a singles run or if she'll reform a tag team with a former ally like Harley Cameron.
