Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Tuesday said that Telangana is setting a new direction for countries around the world in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

“The State is not only attracting investments but also integrating environmental protection and social responsibility, thereby positioning itself as a “guiding force for AI standards,” he said while inaugurating “Green Growth Economic Summit – The Hyderabad Collective” at HICC along with Industries and IT Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu. The summit, organised under the aegis of “The Meridian Collective,” will be held over two days.

Addressing delegates from various countries, the Deputy Chief Minister emphasised that AI is not just about cloud computing and servers, but also involves critical resources such as electricity, water, land, and human capital. “We are not opposing AI, but we are guiding the world on how AI should be developed,” he clarified. He added that Telangana is emerging as a hub for AI by promoting renewable energy and responsible resource management - instead of depleting natural resources like water and electricity.

While aggressively inviting investments, Telangana is ensuring that they benefit both the environment and local communities. “It is not just about allocating land, water, and electricity. Industries must enhance local skills, use clean energy, and rely only on recycled water. This is not just engineering efficiency - it reflects our core values,” he said.

He strongly asserted that technology must never compete with agriculture and the water needs of common people. Telangana will prioritize AI systems that adopt the most responsible water usage practices, he said.

He also stated that AI should be accessible to common citizens, breaking language barriers and creating employment opportunities for rural youth.

Welcoming industries while standing firmly on the side of people, the Telangana government’s efforts are expected to position Hyderabad as a global benchmark for AI standards in the future, he said.
