New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday thanked students and young people for responding to his video on examination reforms and sharing their suggestions. PM Modi’s Instagram reel has set a new world record after it garnered over 303 million views within 24 hours, surpassing the previous record of 300 million views. The video has over 325 million views as of Saturday morning.
PM Modi posted a follow-up video on Instagram to express his appreciation for the feedback he received after his address on Thursday night.
“Thank you friends. I had the opportunity to meet you late last night. I appreciate the way you responded to my video and your positive suggestions. Thanks to everyone…” Modi said.
The caption accompanying the latest video read: “Thanks to the youngsters who watched my video yesterday and sent insightful suggestions.”
In his message, PM Modi said the public response had strengthened his connection with young people. He thanked viewers for their continued support and for taking part in the discussion on examination reforms.
The follow-up video came a day after the Prime Minister addressed concerns over paper leaks and alleged irregularities in the NEET-UG examination.
Nationwide protests have demanded accountability and major reforms in the country’s examination system.
In Thursday’s video, Modi said the government would introduce stricter measures to tackle examination paper leaks.
The Prime Minister said the government would consider a draft Bill with provisions for fast-track courts and stringent punishment for people involved in such offences. The Centre plans to introduce the legislation in Parliament during the coming week.
“I know that paper leak is not an ordinary issue. It is very painful for lakhs of students and their guardians,” Modi had said.
The proposed law aims to speed up trials and impose stronger penalties on individuals and organised groups involved in examination fraud.
PM Modi said authorities had arrested people accused of involvement in the paper leak case. He also said the government had acted to prevent students from losing an academic year.
According to the Prime Minister, nearly 22 lakh students received an opportunity to take the examination again within a short period.
He said the government’s main responsibility was to protect students’ future while taking strict action against those responsible for paper leaks.
The announcements came amid nationwide protests over the alleged NEET-UG paper leak and other examination irregularities. Students and protest groups have demanded stronger safeguards, transparent investigations and accountability from officials responsible for conducting national examinations.
Earlier this week, PM Modi told the NDA Parliamentary Party that the government wanted to make the country’s examination system “foolproof”. The Centre has presented the planned legislation and examination reforms as steps to prevent future leaks and restore students’ trust in national entrance tests.
