Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe has admitted he is unsure about Bruno Guimaraes' future amid interest from Arsenal. He has left the door open for the Brazilian, but is hoping to keep him at the club.

Speaking to the media, Howe said he has spoken with Guimaraes and is waiting for the Brazilian to return from his vacation after the FIFA World Cup. He is unwilling to compare the situation to Alexander Isak, who forced his way to Liverpool last summer, and said:22

Howe added that he does not want to lose his best player after the same of Sandro Tonali to Tottenham. He added that it has been a challenging summer window so far and said:

Chelsea have distanced themselves from a move for the Brazilian star, amid rumours that they were plotting to hijack the deal after swooping in late for Morgan Rogers.

Arsenal are keen on signing Bruno Guimaraes from Newcastle United this summer. The Gunners have been in talks with the Magpies since the start of the summer window, but have not found a breakthrough.

Mikel Arteta's side see him as the player who can elevate the midfield after their Premier League title win last season. The Brazilian is also open to making the move this summer.

Reports suggest that Arsenal have made a £70 million bid after seeing two previous offers rejected. Newcastle United are holding out for over £80 million.
