An attempt was made to steal valuables from the Canara Bank branch in Farangipet on Sunday night.

In a press release, the Bantwal Rural police said the thieves entered the branch, located in the Menezes Plaza complex, by breaking open a portion of the roof at night. Bank personnel noticed the incident on Monday morning and informed the police.

The police visited the spot along with Scene of Crime personnel. Preliminary investigation revealed that no valuables were stolen from the bank. A case has been registered, and a search is on for the thieves, the police said.
