Former Indian captain Kris Srikkanth dismissed Shivam Dube and Harshit Rana as pace-bowling all-rounders in the same breath as Hardik Pandya ahead of the 2027 ODI World Cup. With Hardik consistently dealing with injuries, Team India continues its search for other pace-bowling all-rounders as back-ups or secondary options in the same playing 11.

The list includes Nitish Kumar Reddy, Shivam Dube and Harshit Rana, among others.

However, Srikkanth was ready to call only Nitish a semi-all-rounder, while dismissing the other two as all-rounders. He said on Star Sports (7:15):

Dube played as India's primary seam-bowling all-rounder in the recently concluded ODI series against England, with the injuries to Hardik, Harshit and Nitish. While he impressed with the ball, picking up two wickets at an economy of under five in two matches, he was dismissed for a golden duck in his lone stint with the bat.

Kris Srikkanth believes ace batter Virat Kohli holds the key to Team India's chances of winning the 2027 ODI World Cup. At 37, Kohli remains one of the world's top-ranked ODI batters and scored two half-centuries in the recent three-match series in England.

The former captain also urged the management to stick with Rohit Sharma as Shubman Gill's opening partner for the mega event, with Yashasvi Jaiswal as the back-up opener.

Rohit was in indifferent form in ODIs this year with an average of under 30 until the recent series finale against England, when he scored a breathtaking 138 off 110 balls.
