Former NFL star Will Compton expressed skepticism about Conor McGregor's injury recovery after the UFC star posted about his recovery journey on social media. McGregor posted a lengthy update on X on Sunday, confirming he suffered a torn ACL and meniscus in his right knee.

Recall that the injury halted McGregor's fight against Max Holloway a week ago merely 69 seconds into the first round. The former two-division champion revealed he is already off crutches and successfully firing up his quads on the leg extension machine under resistance.

Compton's reaction to the post was of total disbelief, questioning how McGregor could be walking so soon after an ACL surgery.

However, he retracted his statement a while later after realizing the UFC star has not undergone surgery yet.

Conor McGregor's fight with Max Holloway was highly anticipated, making the TKO conclusion after 69 seconds disappointing. Away from the fight, McGregor now faces a grueling rehab process which UFC CEO Dana White noted will require significant physical therapy.

White also confirmed the famous fighter will undergo surgery, noting that his recovery will take time.

Meanwhile, McGregor has set a potential timeline for his return into action. Determined to fulfil the last fight on his contract, he has his sight on a summer 2027 return to action. However, the UFC brass are refusing to reveal extensive detail about his next potential matchup until he's medically cleared to return.

Nevertheless, he'll be hoping to complete a trilogy with Holloway.
