Former India captain Kris Srikkanth expressed his disappointment with the way Vaibhav Suryavanshi threw his wicket away in the second T20I against Zimbabwe. The Men in Blue trashed the hosts by 90 runs to clinch the series with a game to spare.

Batting first, India posted a huge total of 219/5. Vaibhav Suryavanshi got off to a blazing start yet again. However, as most times, he ended up playing one shot too many and was dismissed for 20 runs off nine balls. Notably, he hit Richard Ngarava for four consecutive boundaries (4,6,4,4) and got out on the fifth ball while looking to play another big shot.

Srikkanth questioned the same after it had already become a huge over and reflected that maturity would help the youngster play longer innings going forward.

On the other hand, Srikkanth praised Ishan Kishan for his brilliant knock and lauded the batter for capitalising and playing a big innings. Kishan scored 81 runs off 44 balls with nine boundaries and two maximums at a strike rate of 184.09.

He was awarded 'Player of the Match' for his power-packed performance that helped India seal a dominating victory.

The former Indian captain also praised star batter Tilak Varma for his quickfire half-century. He appreciated his role in keeping the tempo going but also questioned his consistency at the same time.

Tilak smashed an unbeaten 60 off just 29 balls at a strike rate of 206.9 and was also involved in a 94-run stand with Ishan Kishan. The left-hander has scored three fifties in his last nine T20I innings. However, his blistering half-century in the second game against Zimbabwe comes as a huge positive for the Indian team.
