Ryan Clark's abrupt departure from ESPN headlined a wave of layoffs on Monday, and a prominent media figure shared his thoughts about the company's moves.

On Monday, the Super Bowl-winning safety-turned-analyst was taken off the set of "NFL Live" midbroadcast and told that he would be out of his job effective immediately. He reportedly was to be among a wave of mass layoffs that the Disney-owned "Worldwide Leader in Sports" would announce on Tuesday, but media inquiries led to a hastening of the decision.

The move has been met with a mixed reaction, and Clay Travis, the founder of the conservative Outkick website, was among those who praised it:

His comments stood in stark contrast to the following blowback that former Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Emmanuel Acho gave on "Speakeasy":

Emmanuel Acho was not the only person who had something nice to say to Ryan Clark after his abrupt departure from ESPN, however.
