A WWE veteran gave his take on AEW booking MJF to lose the World Championship at the Beach Break 2026 episode.

The aforementioned veteran is Jonathan Coachman. The Salt of the Earth defended his title against Kenny Omega in the show's main event. It was one of the company's top showdowns, and The Cleaner dethroned Maxwell to become the new champion.

Jonathan Coachman took to X to give his view on MJF's surprise title loss. The former WWE personnel said that Big Hebrew's knee injury was so severe that he needed time off to heal. Moreover, Maxwell himself has said on numerous occasions that his knee was pretty banged up, which further makes Coach's reason more legit. He said:

In the same video dropped on X, Jonathan Coachman addressed MJF's AEW title loss as being similar to Sami Zayn's Undisputed WWE Championship loss to CM Punk on RAW days prior. He pointed out that Maxwell had to drop the belt due to injury, while Triple H and the regime gave Zayn his moment at Night of Champions, only to take it away in nine days and ask him to cut promos, rendering it irrelevant.

    Coachman continued:

Regardless of the comparison, MJF is no longer the champion, and if injury is really the reason he lost the title, it remains to be seen whether he will indeed take time off.
