A video is currently making rounds on the internet, and it features actor Faraaz Khan. The clip has once again brought back memories of the late actor, who was once seen as one of Bollywood's most promising newcomers. With his dashing looks, impressive physique and screen presence, Faraaz grabbed attention in the 1990s.

However, despite a promising start, his career never reached the heights many expected. Years later, he battled serious health issues, and during that difficult period, Salman Khan reportedly stepped forward to help by paying his hospital bills.

The actor who almost made his debut with Maine Pyar Kiya

According to NDTV report, Faraaz Khan was the original choice to play the lead role in Maine Pyar Kiya, the 1989 romantic blockbuster directed by Sooraj Barjatya. However, before filming could begin, he reportedly fell seriously ill and had to step away from the project.

The role eventually went to Salman Khan, and the film turned him into an overnight superstar. While the opportunity slipped away from Faraaz, he continued to pursue acting and eventually made his Bollywood debut several years later.

In 1996, Faraaz entered the film industry with Vikram Bhatt's thriller Fareb. The film introduced him as a leading man and earned him recognition among audiences.

He later appeared in Prithvi alongside Suniel Shetty, followed by Mehndi in 1998, where he played the role of Rani Mukerji's husband. His filmography also includes Dulhan Banoo Main Teri and Chand Bujh Gaya, which turned out to be his final film release in 2005.

Despite his talent and screen presence, Faraaz's Bollywood journey remained brief. He appeared in only seven films during his acting career.

As film offers became fewer, Faraaz shifted his focus to television. He appeared in several popular TV shows, including Achanak 37 Saal Baad, Lipstick, Ssshhhh...Koi Hai, Raat Hone Ko Hai and Sinndoor Tere Naam Ka.

His final acting appearance came in the television series Neeli Aankhen in 2008. After that, he stayed away from films and television and remained largely out of the public eye.

Faraaz also came from a family connected to the film industry. He was the son of veteran actor Yusuf Khan, who appeared in around 35 Hindi films. Yusuf is remembered by many movie lovers for playing Zebisko, the bodyguard of Parveen Babi's character, in the 1977 classic Amar Akbar Anthony starring Amitabh Bachchan, Vinod Khanna and Rishi Kapoor.

Salman Khan stood by Faraaz during his health battle

In 2020, Faraaz Khan's health deteriorated after he reportedly suffered from a chest infection for over a year. He was admitted to Bengaluru's Vikram Hospital, where he was treated for a neurological disorder and remained in critical condition.

As news of his illness spread, actress Pooja Bhatt appealed to the public for financial help. Sharing a fundraising campaign on social media, she urged people to contribute if they could. She also said she had made a donation herself and requested others to come forward to support the actor's treatment.

Soon after, actress Kashmera Shah once took to his Instagram handle and revealed that Salman Khan had stepped in to help Faraaz. In an Instagram post, she thanked Salman and wrote, "Thank you for taking care of Faraaz Khan and his medical bills. Actor Faraaz Khan of Fareb fame is in critical condition and Salman has stood by his side and helped him like he helps so many others. I am and will always remain a true admirer. If people don't like this post I don't care. You have a choice to unfollow me. This is what I think and feel. I think he is the most genuine person I have ever met in this film industry."

The support received from members of the film industry gave hope to many fans who were praying for Faraaz's recovery.

Sadly, Faraaz Khan passed away in November 2020 in Bengaluru at the age of 50.

Actress Pooja Bhatt later confirmed his death through a post on social media. She said she was sharing the news with a heavy heart and thanked everyone who had offered help, support and prayers when Faraaz needed them the most.

Although Faraaz Khan's film career was short, he continues to be remembered for his performances in films like Fareb and Mehndi.
