The Anamalai police in Coimbatore district on Sunday arrested three persons on charge of possessing 2.25 kg of ganja and 250 tablets of prescription drug nitrazepam. P. Sundar (32), P. Soundarapandi (25) and T. Vijayaraja (26), all hailing from Madurai district, were arrested with the contraband during a search operation at Aathupalam near Anamalai. The police also seized a two-wheeler from them. The accused were produced before the jurisdictional court and remanded in judicial custody.
The Sulur police on Sunday arrested a 24-year-old man from Kerala with 1.2 kg of ganja. M. Musammil, a native of Malappuram district in Kerala, was found in possession of the contraband during a search conducted by the police at Chinthamanipudur based on specific information on Sunday.
