Three personnel of the Tamil Nadu Home Guard were detained by the police on Wednesday morning after they attempted to stage a protest near the Secretariat, demanding higher wages and regular work throughout the week.

The protesters urged the State government to increase their remuneration and provide employment on all working days. The police intervened and detained the trio, who were later released in the evening.
