Dindigul Town South Police have arrested three members of a family on the charge of smuggling ration supplies.

    The police, following a tip-off that commodities intended for supply through public distribution system were being illegally stockpiled and smuggled, rushed to Muthazhagupatti and conducted a thorough search on a specific premises.

    During the search, they recovered 25 sacks, each weighing 40 kg, that contained ration rice and wheat from inside a tin shed.

    The police detained three members of a family — A. Amalraj, his wife A. Arputha Mary and their son A. Anthony Danny — and questioned them. The police seized around 1,500 kg of ration supplies — 1,050 kg of rice and 450 kg of wheat — from them, and arrested them.
