The carcass of a tiger was found at an estate in Hosa Thota in the Muthodi range of Chikkamagaluru territorial division on Monday (July 13) evening.

The place where it was found is close to Masagali State Forest, adjacent to the Bhadra Tiger Reserve. K.T. Boraiah, the Deputy Conservator of Forests of Chikkamagaluru, and officials of the Muthodi range visited the spot.

The officers suspected that the death could be due to infighting. A postmortem will be conducted on Tuesday (July 14) as per the standard operating procedure of the National Tiger Conservation Authority.
