Starting Friday, the State government will receive complaints online from the public regarding grievances about five Audit Departments — Local Fund, State Government, Cooperative, Hindu Religious, and Milk Cooperative Audit Departments.

A press release said the portal was launched on Friday by enabling new provisions in the Comprehensive Audit Management System (CAMS) of the Director-General of Audit, under the control of the Finance Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.

For instance, a local resident will be able to complain about auditing of shoddy civic infrastructure projects implemented by a local body such as the Greater Chennai Corporation. According to a press release from the Director-General of Audit, during the meeting convened by the Finance Minister on June 2, directions were issued to launch the in CAMS to facilitate the receipt, monitoring, and disposal of grievances relating to audit matters.

Accordingly, a public grievance portal has been introduced in the CAMS website of the Director-General of Audit, Tamil Nadu. The newly-introduced portal enables the public to submit their audit-related grievances and seek clarification on audit observations in a transparent, efficient, and time-bound manner.

Public and auditee Institutions can access the portal by visiting the CAMS website at https://cams.tn.gov.in
