On Friday, July 24, BLACKPINK's Jennie dropped a single titled Less Than a Lover on YouTube, accompanied by a music video.
Towards the end of the over 3-minute-long music video, "TO BE CONTINUED" was displayed on the screen, which has since been driving viewers crazy. Here are some reactions of fans voicing their curiosity about what the ending means:
The music video of Jennie's Less Than a Lover has already gained more than 3 million views on YouTube. In the posters for the track that the Ruby star has dropped on her Instagram handle earlier this week, she was mentioned as the director, writer, and music producer behind the track. It also contained a tagline for the song, which reads:
The ending of the music video remains unexplained at the moment.
According to HypeBeast, Less Than a Lover is an alternative pop ballad that revolves around the fleeting romance of a short-lived summer love - a connection that lies somewhere between casual friendship and romantic commitment. Jennie acknowledges these characteristics as she sings:
The music video, which was shot in Spain, sees the couple enjoying slow lunches, walking around the streets, driving through deserted roads, going boating, lazing around scenic locations, and taking lots of pictures. Towards the end, as the boy leans in for a kiss, Jennie withdraws at the last moment, before the "TO BE CONTINUED" message appears on the screen.
While Jennie has yet to officially name the male lead who featured in the music video of Less Than a Lover, her fans have already ID'ed him. Viewers believe that it's Nah Kai - a 24-year-old Taiwanese fashion model who has signed with a Korean modeling agency, GRANbrew.
Kai has appeared in the ad campaigns of brands like 8 Seconds, Musinsa, and Low Classic.
Less Than a Lover isn't the first music video Nah Kai has appeared in. Six months ago, he also starred in the music video of Blue - a single by Seventeen's DK and Seungkwan. The track surfaced on YouTube on January 12, 2026, and has since received more than 15 million views on the platform.
