New Delhi: Tom Holland received a unique welcome from Spider-Man fans during his visit to Mumbai, with quirky hoardings inspired by his superhero avatar appearing across the city ahead of the release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

The actor is in Mumbai with Christopher Nolan and Matt Damon for the premiere of The Odyssey. His visit, however, also turned into a celebration for Marvel fans, who installed creative posters paying tribute to Holland and his iconic role as Spider-Man.

One of the hoardings read, “Spider-Man, Naam Toh Suna Hoga”, borrowing from Shah Rukh Khan’s famous dialogue, while another carried the humorous message, “Sorry Tom, the mask suits you better.”

The fan campaign comes as excitement builds for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which marks Holland’s return as Peter Parker following the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the film is set four years after No Way Home and follows Peter Parker as he continues fighting crime in a world where no one remembers his identity. As he struggles to move forward while watching his old friends move on, Peter faces a mysterious new threat that could change his life once again.

Alongside Holland, the film features Zendaya as MJ and Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds. The cast also includes Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/The Punisher, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk, Michael Mando as Scorpion, Tramell Tillman as William “Bill” Metzger and Sadie Sink in an undisclosed role that has sparked speculation among fans.

In India, Spider-Man: Brand New Day will release in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. The film will also be available in premium formats, including 2D, 3D, 4DX 3D, SCREEN X, Dolby Cinema 3D, ICE 3D, MX4D 3D, P[XL] and BIGPIX.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is scheduled to release in Indian theatres on July 30, a day ahead of its worldwide release.
