AEW President and CEO Tony Khan recently provided a major health update on MJF after he disappeared from television.

The Salt of the Earth was amid a major push in the company since returning in December last year. He won the AEW World Championship twice and was part of some of the physically punishing yet captivating matches on television and marquee PPV shows. However, his third reign as the AEW World Champion came to an end at the hands of Kenny Omega at Beach Break 2026.

Since that night, Big Hebrew has been missing from their weekly televised programming. In the recent Redemption PPV media call, Tony Khan acknowledged that MJF had fought in multiple hard-hitting matches on television, PPVs, and even house shows. The Salt of the Earth was visibly dealing with a knee injury on TV, yet he fought through it and may have taken time off to heal and reset.

Furthermore, Khan applauded his run in 2026 and said that he was sure that MJF would make his return to AEW "very soon."

Speaking of major stars like MJF, Tony Khan was recently asked about the possibility of introducing an AEW Hall of Fame to immortalize top names in his company. Khan gave props to the inaugural class of his sister promotion, ROH, and said he'll consider doing the same for AEW.

Should Tony Khan introduce the Hall of Fame, there is no doubt that MJF would be enshrined in it for his contributions to the promotion at some point.
