One of AEW's top stars and reigning champions is set for a massive title match this Sunday. The talent in question, Kevin Knight, has now revealed that he might consider vacating his TNT Championship if he emerges victorious at Redemption 2026.
On the July 15 edition of Wednesday Night Dynamite, The Jet interrupted Will Ospreay's in-ring chat with his tentative All In: London opponent, the newly crowned AEW Men's World Champion Kenny Omega. Knight informed The Cleaner that the former World Champion MJF had promised him a World Title match in exchange for him being on "Team DCMJF" at Forbidden Door 2026. The Elite member responded by offering the up-and-comer a shot at his belt at Redemption 2026.
Kenny furthermore tried to persuade Kevin Knight to face him without any help from the Don Callis Family, although the latter landed a cheap shot on the champ for trying to convince him that he was still a good person. This week on AEW Dynamite, The Jet once again got the jump on Omega, busting him open with his TNT Title belt after his main event trios bout. Having also recently broken the record for the highest number of TNT Championship defenses, it appears that the 29-year-old will be walking into Redemption 2026 with a ton of momentum.
During a recent interview with SB Nation ahead of the upcoming PPV, Knight revealed that if he does beat Kenny Omega to become World Champion in Montreal, he might potentially relinquish the TNT Championship afterwards.
Days before challenging The Best Bout Machine for his AEW World Championship at Redemption, Kevin Knight had the tall task of defending his TNT Title this week on Dynamite against Darby Allin. Despite his opponent fighting tooth-and-nail to recapture the belt and exact his revenge, The Jet managed to retain his strap after landing an illegal blow on the face-painted daredevil with the championship, following it up afterwards with a Coast 2 Coast and a decisive UFO Splash for the win.
It remains to be seen whether the "One we Look Up To" will fulfill his goal of becoming "Jet 2 Belts" this Sunday at Redemption.
