A popular AEW star has just fired a subtle shot at Sheamus amid speculation that he will join the company in the future. They have claimed one of his iconic moves as their own.
The Celtic Warrior is set to depart WWE after a tenure of almost two decades. His next destination has not been officially decided, but several names from the Tony Khan-led promotion, including former partners of his, have been pushing for his signing. But there won't be any official moves from their end until he hits free agency.
Brian Cage took to X/Twitter and posted a clip from the Don Callis Family's trios match against Gino Medina, Nic Nolan and Tome Filip last Saturday on AEW Collision. During the match, he hit a brutal thrust kick on one of their opponents. The Machine fired shots at Sheamus as he claimed that the only Brogue Kick you would see within the company would come from him.
The timing of Cage's post and his use of the finisher on AEW TV could suggest a potential blockbuster showdown between him and The Celtic Warrior might be in the making. All Elite stars have previously teased new arrivals to the promotion in a similar fashion.

Seeing as the former WWE Champion's contract was expiring, many believed he would no longer be subject to the 90-day no-compete clause and could be signed by any major company once he hits free agency.
However, the situation has changed as a report came out a few days ago regarding the end of his contract. The original belief was that this would be up imminently, but Fightful Select has reported that Sheamus will only hit free agency by October 1.
This denies all chances of him debuting at AEW All In: Wembley if he signs with the company, as previously speculated.
As it stands, the soonest he could debut for the promotion is at WrestleDream in October. But nothing is set in stone, as he could end up signing for another major promotion instead. Fans should stay tuned for any further developments on the situation. In the meantime, some other ex-WWE names have just hit free agency and are free to sign anywhere.
