A trader was killed after being attacked by a stray bull while cleaning the steps outside his shop at Kumarhatti in Solan district on Wednesday morning. The deceased has been identified as Devendra Vohra. The incident occurred around 8 am when the bull allegedly charged at him, causing him to fall onto the road and sustain serious injuries.

Vohra’s son, who rushed to rescue his father, was also attacked by the animal and sustained injuries. Both were taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared Devendra Vohra dead. His son is undergoing treatment.

The Kumarhatti Traders’ Association observed a market shutdown as a mark of respect to the deceased. Members of the business community described Vohra’s death as an irreparable loss, saying he had been running his shop in the market for many years.

Expressing anger over the incident, traders said the menace of stray bulls and other stray animals had remained a major concern in the Kumarhatti area for a long time. They alleged that despite repeated complaints, the administration had failed to take effective measures to address the problem.
