Former India player Aakash Chopra has opined that Sanju Samson shouldn't replace Tilak Varma in the Men in Blue's playing XI for the fourth T20I against England. He pointed out that the Kerala wicketkeeper-batter shouldn't be made to bat out of position, as has repeatedly been done with KL Rahul.

The fourth T20I between India and England will be played in Bristol on Thursday, July 9. While Tilak has played all three games thus far, Samson was left out to accommodate Vaibhav Suryavanshi in the last two matches.

In a video shared on his YouTube channel, 'Aakash Chopra,' the former India batter was asked whether Tilak should make way for Samson in the fourth T20I against England.

Sanju Samson has batted at No. 5 or lower only 10 times in his 57 T20I innings. He has aggregated 169 runs at an average of 21.13 in those games.

In the same video, Aakash Chopra pointed out that Tilak Varma is India's T20I vice-captain and has been faring decently in a difficult batting position.

The cricketer-turned-commentator reckoned that Tilak shouldn't be left out to make a place for Sanju Samson.

Tilak Varma has aggregated 40 runs at a strike rate of 114.28 in his three innings in the ongoing series against England. He smashed an unbeaten 24 off 11 balls in India's four-wicket loss in the second T20I in Manchester.
