The police arrested a 34-year-old man with 11.50 g of suspected MDMA on Sunday (July 26, 2026), after which it emerged that he had been released from jail just 20 days earlier after being arrested in a narcotics case. He is also an accused in multiple narcotics cases.

Unais, a resident of Thrikkakara, was arrested by the police and the District Anti-Narcotic Special Action Force at Padamugal as part of Operation Toofan.

The police also arrested Syed Sadiq, 27, a resident of Ottapalam, with 4.65 g of suspected MDMA near Kalangatt Road, Kakkanad.
