Two young men were killed after losing control over their motorcycle and crashed into a Metro Rail pillar near Bhagyanagar bus stop in Kukatpally during the early hours of Friday.

The deceased were identified as Akhilesh Yadav (24), a native of Jagtial district, and Mohammed Younus (26). Akhilesh worked as an electrician at a hospital in KPHB Colony and was staying in a hostel. According to the police, the duo were travelling from JNTU towards Kukatpally shortly after midnight when the motorcycle lost control near Bhagyanagar bus stop and rammed into Metro pillar number 746. Both riders were thrown off the vehicle and suffered injuries.

Akhilesh died on the spot, while Younus, who was riding pillion, was shifted to a hospital in an ambulance, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. The police have registered a case and are investigating the cause of the accident.
