With the arrest of three persons, including two minors, the Karnal police have solved the sensational murder of 15-year-old Parteek, a resident of Dhaulagarh village.
The accused were identified as Daljit, a resident of Jundla village, and two minors.
The arrests were made following a joint operation conducted by the Sadar police, and CIA-1 and CIA-2 teams. Sharing details, DSP (Headquarters) Sandeep Kumar said Prateek was present on the road when three youths attacked him. He sustained serious injuries and was rushed to hospital where he was declared dead. A case was registered at the Sadar police station on the complaint of the victim’s uncle, Nafe Singh.
The investigation was carried out by Superintendent of Police Narender Bijarniya, Sadar SHO Inspector Tarsem Singh, CIA-1 in-charge Inspector Sandeep Singh and CIA-2 in-charge Inspector Parveen Kumar.
“Using technical surveillance, intelligence inputs and continuous raids at suspected locations, the joint police team arrested Daljit, a resident of Jundla village on Wednesday and based on information, two juveniles were arrested,” said the DSP.
The DSP said the investigation was being carried out to ascertain the sequence of events and the motive behind the murder. Efforts are also underway to recover the weapon used in the crime. “We are investigating the case from multiple angles and further legal action will be taken based on the findings,” he added.
Dalijt was produced in court and had been sent to one-day police remand, while the juveniles had been sent to jail, said Sadar SHO Inspector Tarsem Singh.
