Two youths drowned in the Meghadrigedda Reservoir under the Pendurthi police station limits on Sunday.

According to the police, a group of five students, all pursuing Intermediate at a private college, had visited the reservoir for a day out. While they were playing in the waters, two youths identified as Deepak (18) and Ramachandra (18), reportedly slipped into the reservoir and went missing.

The other students immediately alerted the police, who rushed to the spot and launched a search operation. The bodies of the two students were later recovered from the reservoir. Police have registered a case and sent the bodies for post-mortem.
