New York Yankees infielder Jose Caballero has been in the news over the last few days after controversial decisions by MLB umpires during his plate appearances.

The Yankees infielder grabbed headlines for his defense during Saturday's 3-1 win against the Philadelphia Phillies. Caballero, who caught Bryson Stott's line drive with runners on first and second in the bottom of the fourth inning, dropped the ball for a potential double play.

However, second base umpire Brennan Miller established that Caballero intentionally dropped the ball, keeping the Phillies' runners in scoring positions.

MLB fans reacted to the second base umpire's decision against Caballero, who is on a $2 million contract.

After Caballero dropped the liner, he re-collected it and headed to second base to tag Bryan De La Cruz, who had gone back to second. The decision didn't hurt the Yankees as the Phillies stranded the runners to end the inning.
