A major Wrestling star closed the chapter on his legendary in-ring career recently, with an update emerging regarding his current status.
The aforementioned star, who is also a six-time World Heavyweight Champion, is Yoshihiro Yamazaki, the fourth man to portray the legendary character of Tiger Mask IV. He had spent almost his entire career in New Japan Pro Wrestling for 3 decades. However, in 2007 and 2008, Yamazaki made a few notable appearances in TNA Wrestling, his only time appearing for a North American wrestling promotion.
At the recent NJPW event held in Tokyo's Korakuen Hall, he had his final night as an in-ring competitor and wrestled two matches against Tommy Billington and his longtime rival, Black Tiger IV. However, before he went into his retirement night, Yamazaki, in an interview with njpw1972.com, revealed that he would still be around to keep an eye on NJPW and continue to work with the promotion.
New Japan Pro Wrestling President Hiroshi Tanahashi recently revealed that he had positive discussions with AEW and its President, Tony Khan, regarding their future working relationship. The two promotions have worked together for years and recently produced the highly successful Forbidden Door 2026 PPV. Here is what Tanahashi said:
With NJPW and AEW's relationship stronger than ever, it remains to be seen what event they will come up together with next.
