Will Ospreay is not only among the biggest stars in AEW, but he is also one of the best in-ring performers in the world of professional wrestling. The English star recently made a surprising revelation about turning down an offer from WWE.
During an appearance on Marking Out with MVP & Dwayne Swayze, the 33-year-old stated that the Stamford-based promotion reached out to him in 2016 and asked him to be a part of the Cruiserweight Classic tournament. Will Ospreay noted that he also had the options to join TNA and NJPW. He further recalled Tiger Hattori offering him a spot in NJPW's Best of Super Juniors tournament following his match against Okada for RevPro.
Will Ospreay then recalled having a conversation with his mother. The former AEW International Champion stated that he politely declined WWE's offer and asked NJPW for more than just a spot in the Best of Super Juniors tournament. Ospreay added that although the Japanese promotion told him that he could also be on WWE, he made it clear that he wanted to sign with them.
