The Vaishali Nagar Railway Underpass in Miyapur will remain closed for 20 days from July 16 to facilitate road widening and stormwater drain works aimed at eliminating chronic waterlogging and improving traffic movement.
The underpass has been identified as a bottleneck and a waterlogging point during heavy rainfall, disrupting traffic flow.
As part of the traffic management plan, vehicles travelling from My Home Mangala towards Hafeezpet through the Vaishali Nagar railway underpass will be diverted at the My Home Mangala T-junction. Motorists will have to take a U-turn towards Raghavendra Nagar Colony, proceed via the Hi-Tension Road, turn left at the RTA Office in Kondapur and use the Hafeezpet Road Over Bridge to reach Hafeezpet. Vehicles heading towards Allwyn junction will follow the same route before continuing via the Hafeezpet flyover.
Traffic approaching the underpass from Telangana Cultural Club and Contractors Colony will be routed through the Hafeezpet road overbridge and the Kondapur-Allwyn junction corridor to reach their destinations.
Vehicles travelling from My Home Jewel, RTC Colony and the Manjeera Pipeline Road towards My Home Mangala or Raghavendra Nagar Colony via the underpass will be diverted along the Pipeline Road towards the Hafeezpet Road Over Bridge. From there, motorists will turn left near Genpact onto the Kondapur-Allwyn junction road, take the Government School U-turn and rejoin the Hafeezpet flyover towards Kondapur and Raghavendra Nagar Colony.
Similarly, commuters travelling from Vasavi Lake City and Hafeezpet Lake towards My Home Mangala or Raghavendra Nagar Colony will be diverted at the Spire One Apartments U-turn and directed onto the Hafeezpet Road Over Bridge. They will then turn left near Genpact, proceed along the Kondapur-Allwyn junction road and use the Government School U-turn before crossing the Hafeezpet flyover towards Kondapur and Raghavendra Nagar Colony.
Traffic from Gopal Nagar and the Calvary Temple area heading towards My Home Mangala will be routed via the old Hafeezpet underpass, after which motorists will join the Kondapur-Allwyn junction road, take the Government School U-turn and use the Hafeezpet road overbridge to reach Kondapur and Raghavendra Nagar Colony.
Cyberabad traffic police have advised commuters to plan their travel in advance, follow the notified diversion routes and cooperate with traffic personnel during the 20-day closure.
