Visakhapatnam District Collector M. Abhishikth Kishore on Friday directed officials to prepare a comprehensive action plan for the proposed Bay City project, part of the Visakha Economic Region, with emphasis on land use, infrastructure, tourism, investment and strategic development corridors.

    Reviewing the project at a meeting in the Collectorate, he instructed officials of the Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA) and the Revenue Department to prepare a comprehensive database of government and private lands in the proposed project area, including details of land extent, ownership, present use, development potential and suitability for future utilisation.

    The Collector called for detailed land parcel mapping and classification of land for residential, commercial, industrial, institutional, tourism, recreational and infrastructure purposes. He also sought a study on land availability for short-term and long-term projects and asked officials to identify areas suitable for future development.

    Mr. Abhishikth Kishore directed officials to prepare an integrated connectivity plan linking Bay City with the Visakha Economic Region. He also asked them to identify character zones based on development potential and examine the scope for developing Kailasagiri as a wellness, recreation and adventure tourism destination.

    VMRDA Metropolitan Commissioner Tej Bharat, Joint Collector Gobbilla Vidyadhari, Bheemunipatnam RDO Sangeet Madhur, Estate Officer Dayanidhi and other officials attended the meeting.
