Linda Noskova won the first Grand Slam of her career on Saturday, taking down Karolina Muchova in a thrilling final at the 2026 Wimbledon Championships. Noskova converted her sixth championship point on Centre Court, prevailing 6-2, 5-7, 6-3 to become the youngest women's champion at the tournament since 2011.

Noskova was steamrolling her way through the final at one point, leading 6-2, 5-3 and serving for the match. However, a remarkable turnaround from Muchova stopped the juggernaut and forced a decider at SW19.

In the third set, just as fans were wondering if Noskova could mentally deal with the fatigue of letting five match points slip, she found her groove again, racing to an early 3-0 lead and then serving out the win on her first attempt of the set.

A rousing welcome greeted the 21-year-old from Czechia, who fell on the grass and broke down in celebration. In her victory speech afterwards, more tears came from Noskova, especially as she fondly remembered her late mother.

Noskova's mother, Ivana, passed away in 2024, following a long battle with cancer. On the biggest stage of her career, the Czech paid tribute to her with an emotional message.

As Linda Noskova broke into tears, Czech-born American tennis legend Martina Navratilova, who initially represented Czechoslovakia before later representing the United States, was also seen wiping away her tears.

Navratilova, a nine-time champion at Wimbledon, won all of her SW19 titles representing the United States. Meanwhile, Linda Noskova became the third Czech woman in four years to win the Grass Major, following Marketa Vondrousova and Barbora Krejcikova.

Following her stunning win at the 2026 Wimbledon Championships, Linda Noskova is projected to rise to a career-high World No. 7 ranking on Monday. Meanwhile, runner-up Karolina Muchova is projected to rise to No. 6, a new high for the Czech.

World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka continues her reign at the top, followed by Elena Rybakina, Jessica Pegula and Coco Gauff. Defending champion Iga Swiatek will drop to World No. 8 after an early exit.
