The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a fresh weather alert for Sunday, July 19, forecasting heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds across several parts of India. States including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh are likely to witness adverse weather conditions.

The weather department has warned that wind speeds could reach up to 85 kmph in some areas, while a few regions may also experience hailstorms. Residents have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel during severe weather and follow local administration advisories.

Delhi weather tomorrow (July 19)

The IMD has issued a yellow alert for the national capital, predicting light rain along with hot and humid conditions on Sunday.

According to the weather department, there is a possibility of very light to light rain at isolated places, accompanied by surface winds of 20-30 kmph, gusting up to 40 kmph during the morning hours. Another forecast also indicates that heavy rain and thunderstorms may affect parts of Delhi later in the day, with wind speeds reaching 60-70 kmph.

Heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected in Meerut, Agra, Kanpur, Saharanpur, Muzaffarnagar, Bijnor, Sambhal, Badaun, Shahjahanpur, Pilibhit, Barabanki, Ayodhya, Deoria, Maharajganj, Kushinagar, Gorakhpur, Basti, Sultanpur, Chandauli, Azamgarh, Sonbhadra, Varanasi and Prayagraj.

Strong winds of 60-65 kmph are also likely.

Wind gusts may reach 70-80 kmph.

Punjab weather tomorrow

Heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected in Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Mansa, Ludhiana, Patiala, Sangrur, Malerkotla, Rupnagar and Pathankot.

Rajasthan weather (July 19-20)

Heavy rainfall has been forecast for Churu, Bharatpur, Jaipur, Jhunjhunu, Sikar, Sawai Madhopur, Ajmer, Tonk, Bikaner, Bundi, Dholpur, Chittorgarh and Jaisalmer.

Strong winds of 60-70 kmph are likely.

Chhattisgarh weather (July 19-20)

Heavy rainfall is likely over Korba, Bilaspur, Raipur, Dhamtari, Bemetara, Baloda Bazar, Janjgir-Champa, Mahasamund, Durg, Raigarh and Korea, with thunderstorms and wind gusts of up to 50 kmph.

Odisha weather (July 19-21)

Moderate to heavy rainfall has been forecast for Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balangir, Nuapada, Sundargarh, Sambalpur and Bhubaneswar.

Thunderstorms accompanied by winds of up to 60 kmph are also expected.

Separately, the IMD has forecast heavy downpours in Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj on Sunday, while Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj may receive heavy rainfall on Monday.

Arunachal Pradesh weather

Fresh floods and landslides have been reported in East Siang and Kamle districts after continuous rainfall. The IMD has forecast heavy to very heavy rain with thunderstorms and lightning over parts of the state on Sunday.

Papum Pare and East Kameng districts are likely to receive very heavy rainfall (12-20 cm), while Anjaw may witness heavy rainfall (6-11 cm).

The weather office has warned that persistent rain could trigger localised flooding, waterlogging, landslides, overflowing rivers, traffic disruptions and damage to vulnerable infrastructure. Authorities have stepped up monitoring and emergency response measures, while residents have been advised to avoid non-essential travel and follow district administration advisories.

Temperature forecast for major cities on July 19
