PTIThe India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a fresh weather alert for Sunday, July 19, forecasting heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds across several parts of India. States including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh are likely to witness adverse weather conditions.
The weather department has warned that wind speeds could reach up to 85 kmph in some areas, while a few regions may also experience hailstorms. Residents have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel during severe weather and follow local administration advisories.
According to the weather department, there is a possibility of very light to light rain at isolated places, accompanied by surface winds of 20-30 kmph, gusting up to 40 kmph during the morning hours. Another forecast also indicates that heavy rain and thunderstorms may affect parts of Delhi later in the day, with wind speeds reaching 60-70 kmph.

Papum Pare and East Kameng districts are likely to receive very heavy rainfall (12-20 cm), while Anjaw may witness heavy rainfall (6-11 cm).
