Nabanna: West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari held a meeting with Flipkart Chief Executive Officer Kalyan Krishnamurthy at Nabanna on Wednesday as part of the state’s ongoing engagement with industry leaders.

According to the Chief Minister’s Office, the discussion focused on the e-commerce sector and was attended by senior officials from Flipkart.

Sources said the Chief Minister visited Nabanna on Wednesday afternoon before holding the meeting with the Flipkart delegation.

The Chief Minister’s Office later shared photographs of the interaction on social media, confirming that Kalyan Krishnamurthy and Flipkart Chief Corporate Affairs Officer Rajneesh Kumar were present, along with other company representatives.

The state government said the discussions primarily centred on the e-commerce industry and opportunities in the sector.

However, it did not disclose whether any specific investment proposals or business expansion plans were discussed during the meeting.

The meeting comes as the West Bengal government continues efforts to attract private investment across different industries.

In recent weeks, the Chief Minister has participated in the foundation stone-laying ceremony for a new Lux Cozi manufacturing facility in Dankuni. The state has also announced major investment commitments from companies including Shyam Steel and Amul.

The government has also been engaging with several leading business groups as part of its industrial outreach programme.

The Chief Minister has recently held meetings with industrialists, including Sanjiv Goenka and Karan Adani. Meanwhile, work on the proposed sea port project in the state has also progressed.

Although no formal announcement followed the meeting with Flipkart, the interaction is being viewed as part of the government’s broader strategy to strengthen ties with major companies and encourage future business opportunities in West Bengal.
