The Firefly was added to Grow a Garden 2 on July 12, 2026, as a Mythic-rarity pet. This creature utilizes its ability to fly around and increase the sizes of newly-planted plants. It is immensely useful for increasing the value of your farm, especially since it stacks if multiple Fireflies are equipped. When it spawns on the map, you can buy it from the overworld using Sheckles.

With its ability, the Firefly passively raises plant size for every newly-sown plant on the map by 2%. Its effects are universal, meaning everyone on the server will benefit from it. Since the ability stacks, every player can equip multiple Fireflies for a massive blanket size bonus. Note that the maximum size bonus is capped at 50%.

This ability is affected by pet Mutations as well. The three pet Mutations, Big, Huge, and Rainbow, increase the plant size bonus by 2x, 3x, and 1.25x, respectively. So, if you happen to come across a mutated Firefly, be sure to nab it and add it to your active pet slot.

Like most other pets, the Firefly can be bought from the overworld when it spawns for 3,000,000 Sheckles. Being a Mythic-rarity pet, its spawn odds are exceedingly low at 0.6%. Considering how valuable its ability is and its extremely rare spawn chance, getting the Firefly can be quite challenging.

The best way to try to get it is by playing on a less populated server. Equip the Owl pet in an active slot and wait until it hoots loudly. This will indicate that a rare pet has spawned on the map. Seek it out, buy it, and escort it to your farm before anyone else has the chance. That way, you can avoid being forced into a bidding war against another Robloxian over who can pay more to keep the pet.
