Ellie Moon, a finalist from Fishtank Season 4, has reportedly died at the age of 19. The news became public after her sister shared a statement via Reddit. The family had initially chosen to keep the matter private so they could grieve away from public attention before addressing it online.
Ellie's sister, Gigi, posted a detailed statement on Reddit confirming her death and asking the community to avoid spreading misinformation. Addressing one of the biggest rumors, she strongly denied that the show, its production team, or creator Jet Neptune had anything to do with Ellie's death.
In fact, she added that the show has been one of the brighest time in her sister's life:
Gigi also rejected the rumours that Ellie had died from a drug overdose, and added that her sister had been taking prescribed SSRIs. The statement further revealed that Ellie had struggled with suicidal thoughts since childhood. Moreover, these challenges allegedly existed long before her appearance on Fishtank.
Gigi ended her statement by thanking the show's crew for supporting Ellie and her family during this phase, and urged people to stop directing blame towards the series.
Earlier this year, the show's producer, Benjamin Taylor became the center of controversy after a video showed him physically fighting a contestant named Landon, who was reportedly intellectually disabled.
He also told Landon that the incident had brought him new followers and even suggested the two could take part in a boxing event together after Fishtank. The incident drew widespread criticism on social media platforms.
In other news, fans reacted after Ludwig revealed that he earned over $1.1 million in a month at the Streamer University 2026.
